The future is in your hands: History of Red Mountain Institute (RMI)
RMI was founded in 1994 by business partners Arnold Askew and Kitty Flewelling. The school originally opened as the Birmingham School of Clinical Massage and offered both a 300 and a SOD-hour clinical massage therapy program. In 1996, the program hours increased to 6S0 and offered a Dual Certification in Clinical Neuromuscular Massage Therapy. In 1998, RMI expanded its curriculum to the current 720-hour program. That same year, RMI moved from 720 Montclair Road to 1900 20th Avenue South. Arnold Askew became the sole owner of RMI in 1999. RMI moved to its present location at 828 Columbiana Road, Homewood, AL in July 2004.
RMI is dedicated to creating a rich and challenging program while providing students with a sound foundation of knowledge and skills. The curriculum is holistic and the staff is committed to providing an environment that allows self-reflection and integration.

Tuition Information: Tuition is $8,500.00, which includes all textbooks.
Payment Plans: Monthly payment plans are available through the school.
Sallie Mae Loans: RMI offers student loans through Sallie Mae. These are low interests that offer approved students the opportunity to borrow their tuition and pay payments over five or ten years. Students must submit a complete school application and be accepted into our 720-hour program to apply for a Sallie Mae school loans.
